Keeping with Traditions...

Last weekend we celebrated with two special couples! Saturday we began with a traditional ceremony for Meseret and Teshome. Their guest arrived back in the evening to let the celebrations begin. For entertainment they choose a gospel singer, who was fantastic! Meseret and Teshome provided traditional Ethiopian deliquesces for dinner, guest could not get enough of the delicious feast. Congratulation Meseret and Teshome!

Sunday evening we celebrated with another fantastic couple Vimla and Alan, who were also keeping with traditions. They enjoyed a traditional ceremony on Saturday followed by an intimate reception, by Sunday the newlyweds and their guest made their way to The Rosewood to commemorate in a lavish fashion. Vimla and Alan mixed their traditions with some modern twists! After enjoying dinner guests hit the dance floor. The party was not ending any time soon, when the reception ended guest headed out to rest before the final festivity which would be held at Alan’s parent’s home the next day. I love the traditional week long celebration of marriage, such a beautiful fusion of two families; it deserves to be celebrated in a momentous manner. Congratulations Vimla and Alan!

The Love of a Lifetime....

Whether you meet your freshmen year of high school or reconnect further down the road, our couples this weekend showed how special it is when you finally meet the love of a lifetime. Friday evening Lisa and William, who reconnected 20 years later after being high school sweethearts found each other again and we were lucky enough to watch their blissful happy ending begin with a beautiful intimate wedding. Lisa had a vision of timeless elegance. Her ivory and pale blue color scheme was exquisite. I loved that their wedding song was “Save your Love, by Great White.”This was their song when they dated after high school and on their first date years later they were sitting in her car reminiscing when this song came on, it was one of those moments when you know it is so much more than coincidence.

On Sunday afternoon Korenza and Adam said their heartfelt vows in the Garden Room. They met freshmen year of high school and after a few years of being friends their love for one another took over. Thirteen years later and still head over heals in love they begin the next chapter of their life together. Adam and Korenza chose a champagne and sangria color scheme, absolutely beautiful. They created their own centerpieces with glass vases with a sangria flowers, and floating candles. We loved their cupcake favors, how sweet! Congratulations Lisa & William and Korenza & Adam may the love you feel right now be the love that last your whole lives through!

The Dance of Love....

Remember young love and dancing the night away under the stars. Yes…you guessed it Friday night was prom night at The Rosewood.  It was magical to spend the night celebrating with the soon to be graduates of Rahway High School and New Brunswick Health and Science Tech High School.  Our Rose Ballroom was transformed into a Hollywood hot spot, while our Grand level morphed into New York City.  Our New York night ended with many sweet treats!  We went all the way with the New York street fair theme when it came time for dessert.  Why be traditional when you can end your night with popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, funnel cakes, and pretzels!  Yummy!!  Congratulations to the Classes of 2012 we wish you all the best in the future!!

Saturday evening we celebrated the marriage of Larisa and James.  Their intimate ceremony and reception was one of a kind and beautiful in every way.  They choose a swan theme for their special day.  Swans symbolize love, grace, union, purity, beauty, dreams, balance, elegance, partnership, and transformation.  The swan may also bear the message of love and relationships, and most swans tend to mate for life.  Larisa’s vision turned into a fairy tale day.  Loved their swan flower pieces, swan cream puffs and red accents! It is always so exciting and interesting when couples incorporate their cultures into their wedding reception, like the Gypsy performance guest enjoyed during dinner.
Congratulations James and Larisa may you enjoy a beautiful life time together!

Summer Loving...

“In every girls life; there’s a boy she’ll never forget and a summer where it all began.” — Unknown

On Sunday we kicked off summer with a fantastic couple George and Heidi. Such a fun day! We loved their bright summer colors. The bridal party looked great, the girls in fun and flirty short pink dresses, while the guys were rocking tangerine. They incorporated their color motif into the ballroom with their satin bows, the perfect pop to set the tone for the evening. Congratulations George and Heidi may your marriage be like a summer day fun in every way!

One moment...one love...one incredible weekend...

"From This Day Forward"

"From this day forward,
You shall not walk alone.
My heart will be your shelter,
And my arms will be your home".

Love was in the air this weekend as three fantastic couples were wed in our garden room.  Saturday evening began with Rachel and Pete.  We loved their whimsical wedding!  Rachel paid close attention to each detail and it was beautiful, the sunflower bouquets and centerpieces were the perfect touch to a warm spring day.  I really liked how their theme spoke about them, each table was identified from a video game, how fun and UNIQUE!!

Sunday morning began with Lozelle and Yusuf saying “I DO”.  Their bridal party looked wonderful in green and salmon.  Loved their colorful centerpieces and adorable love bird cake topper. Their vision of understated elegance was lovely…and kept all eyes on our beautiful bride!

Sunday evening began with Kakinda and Brian doing their first look in our photo gardens.  Brian and Kakinda were so excited to finally see each other! The bridal party looked sensational in their gray tuxes and coral gowns. I loved their cake with gray and coral trim…so pretty.  Guest ended their evening of dancing at the KaBoom Kandy Korner.
