This One is for the Boys ...

Planning on proposing to the love of your life this holiday season. If you not sure how… here are 5 holiday proposals that will warm your honey’s heart!

1. Attach a ring to a candy cane along with a note saying “Will you marry me”…Put this in her stocking! She’ll never see it coming!

2. Spell out “Will you marry me” in Christmas lights on your roof or lawn!

3. Hire someone to be Santa on Christmas Eve or morning. Have your hired Santa give your sweetie several gifts prior to the ring… When it comes time for her to open the box with the ring…pop the question!

4. Take your sweetie on a horse and carriage ride…how romantic! Ask her to be your wife while you snuggle under the moon and stars!

5. Is your honey always on the computer shopping away…? Change her screen saver to “Will you Marry Me?”

Congratulations on your engagement! I look forward to seeing you soon!

Hot Tips ....

Just wanted to share some current wedding trend "tips" with you ....

-- Capturing the memories! Photo booths are sooo much fun and a big hit at weddings! Provide a scrap book next to the photo booth and request that your guests glue one set of the pictures into your wedding scrap book! Also leave a few markers in case they want to personalize their photos with a message! This will definitely be a book of great memories!

-- A sweet ending to your special wedding day! Set up a candy bar filled with treats in your wedding colors (or a selection of your favorites) and let you guests take home a goodie bag! But keep in mind... variety in key. Not only in the type of candy but in the jars, vases, and platters you chose to display your candy in!

-- Signature drinks for your cocktail hour and reception are all the rage these days! Talk to your maitre d' about creating a speciality drink that suits your tastes, matches your color scheme and has a fun name!

-- Up-lighting it is! This is a perfect way to add color to your wedding and create a completely new feel to your ballroom. When selecting to use colored lights opt for colors that complement all skin tones, like magenta or a soft rose.

-- A sweet treat for your sweetie! Groom's cakes are sure way to make your groom feel included! What is your groom's passion, hobby, etc and turn that info into his cake! The options for groom's cake are limitless!

-- Thinking of you! Giving your bride-to-be/groom-to-be a token of your affection prior to walking down the aisle. This can be big or small! A sweet card to flowers or balloons is all your honey needs prior to "I do"!

More to tips to come!!!!

Taboo Topic ...

To see each other prior to your ceremony? … More and more brides are breaking the old superstition that it is bad luck! This past weekend Megan and Ryan saw each other prior to their ceremony! Why are so many brides doing so…

1. You can get some really great meet-n-great pictures!
2. You can get all your family, bridal party etc pictures while you are fresh faced!
3. You can actually go to your cocktail hour!

Are you traditional or non-traditional?

Live Strong ....

With much thought and consideration, the happy couple has chosen a special way to say “thank you” for sharing in the celebration of their commitment to one another.

In lieu of traditional favors, they have made a generous donation in honor of their guests to LIVESTRONG.

MAY YOU FEEL A SENSE OF HAPPINESS KNOWING THIS CONTRIBUTION WILL SUPORT THE LIVESTRONG MISSION TO INSPIRE AND EMPOWER PEOPLE AFFECTED BY CANCER.

The saying above was given out with a yellow LIVESTRONG bracelet to all of our recent newlywed’s, Stephanie and Mark, guests! I thought it was such a beautiful favor! For those of you that don’t know… LIVESTRONG is an organization that fights to improve the lives of those affected by cancer.

Ah, pink. A life-long love for pink can become a building block for a wedding theme… like many other colors! However, for the wedding day of Elizabeth and John, pink was at its core! Pink is the softer side of red, a universal color of love and denotes romance! So why not color your wedding Pink!?

Pink also made an appearance for their napkin color, the bride’s maid dresses,

The Flower of Love ....

There is no getting around it… no rose color says passion like RED!!! This past weekend our newlyweds, Christina and James, accented their wedding with red roses and the color red. The couple set the tone for their special day with their on-site ceremony. Christina walked down the isle wearing a dress dripped with roses that matched her bouquet of flowers perfectly! James also was wearing a single red rose boutonnière and red vest. Their theme continued into the ballroom where their guests saw a three tiered wedding cake wrapped in red ribbon, red sashes on the chairs and red napkins on each place setting! Check out the pictures below …

Love is the Spice of Life ...

This past weekend we celebrated the marriage of Anna & Nathan and of Melissa and Joseph! Both of our newlyweds got married off-site and both of them spiced up their wedding reception!

Anna and Nathan started off the day! The newlyweds entertained their guests with the sweet sounds of a harp player during cocktail hour and with a band for the reception ….The band did the entire reception in Polish and English! How cool is that! After dinner the couple surprised their guests with a cigar roller! But what I think was the most touching part of their day….was when Nathan not only gave Anna a ring….he gave her daughter one too! (I wish I were at the ceremony to see it! Anna’s daughter was so excited when she showed me her new bling!)

Melissa and Joseph finished the day and kept the excitement going at The Rosewood! Melissa surprised her guests and her new hubby with an amazing groom’s cake! A replica of the groom’s car!!…I loved it! Not only was I in love with the cake…I was crazy about their glass engraved gift box! It sparkled just like Melissa’s bouquet of roses!

Heart and Soul...

This past weekend we celebrated the marriage of Alma and Oscar. Our newlyweds said “I do” off-site prior to their wedding reception at The Rosewood. Alma and Oscar, like all couples, have the task of figuring out their wedding day style. For some, it is a color scheme that will capture their wedding day style, others it is a theme like a sunset, garden or the season Fall, and for some it could possibly be an adjective like modern, preppy or peaceful. For Alma and Oscar their wedding day style was all about the color!!! They choose the color purple and had it shine through their sashes, napkins, and flowers!

Our Rose Ballroom accented with the color purple! (above) and

Congratulations Alma and Oscar! And for all those newly engaged…. what seems to capture your wedding’s heart and soul?
