This month I'm loving...

I have never posted a blog like this... but here I go! Things I'm loving now:

Trash the Dress I always loved engagement photos and still do, but my newest obsession is trashing the dress after the wedding! If you aren't set on preserving your wedding dress, you may love this just as much as me! Check out this Trash the Dress video from Josh Lynn Photography and Moving Pictures LLC... http://vimeo.com/11369603 The photos (below) and video from each Trash the Dress are amazing... not to mention it looks like an afternoon full of fun!

Here are two examples of Trash the Dress photos... Above is rolling around on a beach and below is rolling around on a street! *Both photos are from www.jettingtothewedding.com

Traditions I'm totally head over heals for traditions! It is the perfect something borrowed! Whether it is passing down a veil or a pair of earrings ... its the point that a special person in your life also wore that very piece on the most important day of their life too! If you don't have a magical piece like that in your family... But the tradition starter!

Go Natural This season I'm crazy for the natural hair styles on your wedding day! I think its important to stay true to the elegant personal style you already possess! After all, its you that your groom-to-be fell in love with! Be that girl when you say I do!

The newlywed's greeted their guests to the Victoriana level with pictures.

The Grand Ballroom accented with PURPLE! Love it! The couple selected purple napkins and sashes. (above) Below, is an up close picture of the couple's centerpieces. The beautiful centerpieces are from A W Flowers in Kearny, NJ.

Nolliecar and Carl accented the tables with gold shimmery toppers, fun table numbers and personalized menu cards. (above and below)

And the use of purple on April 9th didn't stop there! The couple splashed purple around the ballroom with up lighting, accented their wedding cake with purple buttercream flowers, and had a purple signature drink!

Getting Married in New Jersey ...

On a more serious note... We often get asked questions about getting married in New Jersey... So I decided in today's blog I would answer those important questions for all of you.

  • Where should you apply for your marriage license? If the Bride is a resident of NJ, the marriage license must be obtained from the municipality she lives in. If she is a non-resident and the groom is a resident of NJ, the license must be obtained from his municipality. If both the bride and groom are non-residents of NJ, the license must be obtained from in the municipality where the marriage is being performed.

  • How much is the license fee? The license fee is $28.

  • When should you apply for a marriage license? If your ceremony is scheduled for a Saturday or Sunday, the application should be made no later than the proceeding Tuesday. The local Registrar will not issue a marriage license sooner than 72 hours after the applciation for a marriage license has been made (unless ordered to do so via a court order). Once a marriage license is issued, it is good for 30 days from the date of issuance.

  • What should you bring when you apply? The bride and groom will need their social security numbers. Also, a birth certificate may be requested. If either the bride and/or groom are divorced, please bring a copy of the final decree(s). Question: Where should the marriage record be filed? The person performing the ceremony must file the license and marriage certificate with the Registrar of the municipality in which the marriage was performed.

All of the above information is from the New Jersey Department of Health & Senior Services, Vital Statitics and Registration. For more information and to download the forms, please visit... http://www.state.nj.us/health/vital/marriage_apply.shtml
