Its always exciting when we hear our past brides are now moms! (We love to keep in touch with all our past brides & grooms.... you are all part of our Rosewood family!!!) I would like to take this moment to say with this wonderful holiday approaching.... HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! And to share some Mother's Day Facts....
- Mother's Day was created by Anna Jarvas in 1908, but it wasn't an official national holiday until 1914!
- The holiday was made official by President Woodrow Wilson.
- Mother's Day became so commercialized... Anna Jarvas spent the rest of her life fighting what she saw as an abuse of the celebration. She was actually arrested in 1948 for disturbing the peace while protesting against the commercialization of Mother's Day.
- In the United States, Mother's Day is one of the biggest days for the sale of flowers and greeting cards.
- Mother's Day is also the biggest holiday for long-distance telephone calls!
