The Color of Red...

Christine and William said “I Do” on-site at The Rosewood prior to their five-hour reception this past weekend. The newlyweds accented their wedding with the color red!!! Which I though was perfect for a February (post-Valentine’s Day) Wedding! Most brides and grooms start setting the tone for their wedding day through their color selection! Makes sense right! Color effects our perception, enhances and inspires all of us. For instance the color red is often considered the color of love, seduction and temptation.

Not sure what color is perfect for your Wedding Day? Here are things to consider…
1. Brides maid’s skin tones and hair color
2. The season your wedding is set for
3. The types of flowers that are available during that season

Also don’t forget to play around with some accent colors!!!

Check out the pictures below from Christine and William’s big day!

And last but not least... and up-close picture of a table setting at Christine and William's reception! (....Below)

Congratulations to the newlyweds!!

Super Wedding Saturday ...

This past weekend we celebrated the marriage of Jeanette and Mike! The couple got married in New Brunswick then headed a short ride away to The Rosewood for fun-filled five-hour reception! The couple started their reception with a “pink ribbon” signature cocktail and ended it with a charitable breast cancer donation in lieu of a wedding favor. All of us loved the theme of Jeanette and Mike’s Wedding Reception…. We are Passionately Pink for the Cure at the Rosewood!

The couple accented our rose ballroom with burgundy bows and napkins!

Congratulations Jeanette and Mike! We wish a lifetime of happiness and love!

Cupcake Wars ...

Last blog, I addressed the trend of cupcake wedding cakes….They’re back!!! But some trends aren’t for everyone! So the question is: Is this the vision of your wedding cake? Still not sure? This will help!

Cupcake Wedding Cake vs. Wedding Cake!!

--Are you having a formal/traditional wedding? If so a wedding cake is the way to go!

--Are you interested in having a relaxed reception with everyone dancing the night away and having fun? If so….Let the child in your guests come out with unwrapping a cupcake!

--Are you interested in having a wedding cake cause you love filling? Tie!!! I love love love cannoli filling! Anywhere I can add cannoli filling wins with me! Girls … do see where I’m heading! You can actually get cupcakes stuffed with a filling these days!

--Are you interested in having a cake topper? Tie again! We all know a topper works perfectly on a wedding cake…. But how do you use a cake topper with a cupcake cake? The top layer of your cupcake tower will be a small wedding cake!

--Love the polished look of Fondant? It’s another tie! Fondant can be used on both!!!

Like I said before… It’s just a trend and trends aren’t always for everyone! Go with your vision and your cake will be BEAUTIFUL!

Our tiered cupcake wedding cake!!

For all of you that don’t know …. Cupcake wedding cakes are making a comeback! There is something very whimsical to me about cupcakes. But don’t get me wrong…there are many pros and cons to the wedding cake vs. cupcake debate! In the end…it is only you that can figure out which is best for your wedding! .... And don't worry I wont let you down! I will give you the pros and cons next blog! Until then!

This One is for the Boys ...

Planning on proposing to the love of your life this holiday season. If you not sure how… here are 5 holiday proposals that will warm your honey’s heart!

1. Attach a ring to a candy cane along with a note saying “Will you marry me”…Put this in her stocking! She’ll never see it coming!

2. Spell out “Will you marry me” in Christmas lights on your roof or lawn!

3. Hire someone to be Santa on Christmas Eve or morning. Have your hired Santa give your sweetie several gifts prior to the ring… When it comes time for her to open the box with the ring…pop the question!

4. Take your sweetie on a horse and carriage ride…how romantic! Ask her to be your wife while you snuggle under the moon and stars!

5. Is your honey always on the computer shopping away…? Change her screen saver to “Will you Marry Me?”

Congratulations on your engagement! I look forward to seeing you soon!
